When You Solve A Digital Currency Equation, What Is The Math For?

I get it, you solve the equation, you get a "good cookie" byway of digital currency. But what is the math for? What are you solving the problem for?  You get a piece of digital currency but why do the math? Why put together a super computer to solve big equations?

I get it. You are incentivized through fictitious money to do so. But WHY SOLVE THE PROBLEM? WHO GETS THE ANSWER?

  • It figures out the hash so it can see the transaction and add it to the blockchain. 1st computer to do it gets to add the transaction to the ledger.
